- The National Liberation Front (NLF) supported by the North
- Sent supplies on a route from the north through Cambodia, Laos and behind lines into south Vietnam
- The USA refused to fight on Cambodia or Laotian territory so supplies remained safe
Summary
The Ho chi Minh trail was a way so that the Vietcong and the soldiers fighting from the north to get supplies for their soldiers. The trail passed through Cambodia and Laos. These two places were a free zone where the United States would not attack. Therefore, they were able to supply food and all necessities to fight a war.
